COVERINGS 2022 TRENDS
The Global Tile & Stone Experience
Coverings is the most important event for the ceramic tile and natural stone industry for more than 30 years in North America. The 2022 edition was held April 05-08 in Las Vegas, where hundreds of global companies showcased trends, product innovations and insights into interior design, construction and architecture.
PURE MATERIALS THAT BECOME WORKS OF ART
In response to the growing awareness of the impact of materials on the environment and people’s health, companies are opting to manufacture more natural, eco-friendly and sustainable materials.
All marble-inspired pieces are linked with luxury and sophistication. An example of this is the Onyx collection by Emilgroup or Rêves de Rex by Florim, which feature various shades and large dimensions, giving importance to graphics and color.
The interior design is enhanced by the presence of shiny and reflective materials, so the use of soft veins with chromatic contrasts reveal infinite possibilities.
NATURALNESS AND SOPHISTICATION IN LARGE DIMENSIONS
Onyx is the protagonist stone of Emilcerámica’s new collection. A series where they are stratified under the surface creating a unique three-dimensionality and luminosity in each of its pieces. With a very sophisticated color palette, from elegant pinks, greens and dark blues (Pink, Green and Blue) to the picturesque black Black or the enveloping ivory Ivory.
Tele di Marmo Onyx presents an unprecedented depth and richness of color in a large format of 120 x 278 cm. It also features SilkTech technology that provides high anti-slip performance while keeping the ceramic surface soft and silky to the touch.
REDISCOVERING CEMENT FOR INDUSTRIAL STYLE
Cement inspires ceramic companies to create pieces with an appealing industrial aesthetic. They seek balance and beauty in the purity of their raw materials by giving value to imperfections and textures. Clay de Mirage presents the cement effect in a wide range of colors, both warm and cold, ranging from white to three different shades of gray, and three more modern ones: terracotta, mustard and petrol blue, suitable for designing all kinds of spaces with personality. Similarly, Terma by Grespania is a series inspired by natural stone. It presents untoned pieces in four neutral colors and four different formats giving many possibilities in terms of design.
BEING DIFFERENT AS A SYNONYM FOR SUCCESS
The world of interior design is becoming increasingly competitive, so brands are constantly looking to innovate in order to stand out. Cevica, for example, presented its collections of ceramic wall and floor tiles that offer endless decorative possibilities for projects. Some of the series presented were Tender, Puzzle and Trivial, which stand out for their originality in formats, finishes and colors.
Onix exhibited its Penny collection, inspired by the properties of quartz, offering refined and oxidized details that contrast with the natural shine of the stone. It features a novel color that enhances the timeless beauty of the mosaic and completes the range of greens and blues in all formats to complement the warm tones. The use of this material in projects provides an ecological solution at the highest level of design.
Realonda takes care of the style and every detail of its ceramic models. In Coverings it presented new formats, antibacterial pieces and soft-touch textures with striking colors. Such as the Star collection or the mosaic series like Calacatta Gold Circle.
CONNECTING WITH NATURE AT HOME IS NOW POSSIBLE
The pandemic has left its mark on all our lives and has created the need to have nature closer to our homes. For this, brands like Codicer 95 have designed series like Nusa Jane that combined with the decorated base Botanic Jade will create a unique and current biophilic design.
