TRENDS CEVISAMA 2019

Valencia, España

We continue one more week showing you the trends discovered at the last Cevisama fair, held in Valencia, Spain.

One of the most interesting trends we observed at Cevisama was the use of glazes at different firing temperatures, with which manufacturers are able to create depth and even add metallic touches. This trend can be seen in the Natural collection, which presents a new rigato finish and also has a three-dimensional piece in mosaic brick, in addition to its natural finish. It is a sensorial collection specially indicated for residential interior design.

Architects and interior designers nowadays value materials with a natural character. For example, we can see this in the stracciatella finishes that continue to increase. These finishes have two major advantages, one of them is the game that give the different combinations and sizes of fragments of the incrustations, allowing different designs and the other great advantage that has these finishes is the variety of color of both the agglomerant and the agglomerated particles. The application of this trend is usually found mainly on floors, but it is increasingly common to see these finishes in other areas. This trend can be found in the Stracciatella collection.

Another trend we want to highlight is the use of materials inspired by marble. This ceramic trend is characterised by surfaces with subtle veins that confer a nuance of textures, where the product becomes the plot thread of space. The Slabs collections: Wild Forest, Borghini and Ocean Blue are presented in formats from 320×160 to 60×60 following this trend.

Today, reliefs generate unique spaces with personality. It is not a new feature, but an application in constant development that has not stopped reinventing itself until becoming a trend. Tactile surfaces have acquired importance in the search for coatings, which show a progress towards ceramics with greater decorative importance. An example of this trend can be found in the Ronda collection.

The Plug & Play trend connects with a cheerful vision of the adult world, where graphics and colour take on special importance when it comes to understanding the product. Ceramics thus become a coating, but also a way of composing space through format and colour. Graphic inspiration comes from apparently distant environments such as the world of fashion, where materials are transferred from one sector to another, for example, through resources such as denim taken to coverings, the Alchemy 7.0 collection follows the line of this trend.

To conclude, colour is essential in the Plug & Play trend, in which the tones of the digital world stand out, blues, pinks and purples, as well as the iridescence of the screen environment, this characteristic can be observed in the Stroke collection.
